Roll Over Beethoven

Like the colours in this and the way they contrast with the black and white box of text - fine typography which maintains a connection with the music.

Difficult to represent a whole opera on the cover of a CD box so this is a good idea. Black, white, red and taupe mist work well together. Love the silhouette idea and the way the trees frame the central figure.

Fantastically bold series of covers. Powerful, uncompromising like the music. Great typography - love the way the white on black title dominates.

Again, simple, powerful photograph encapsulating the opera with the title along the horizontal of the grail's cross. Intriguing cover that makes you think about the magic of the music within.

Love ECM's covers. Simple, single photographs with lovely typography. Love the way the piano and Jarrett's hunched  figure create a circle that draws you in. Elegant, understated typography to match.

Beautiful photography draws you in with the trees leaning towards the cleverly placed typography in the top left. Really like the touch of blue for the album title.

Another great photograph with the trees and their shadows criss-crossing the figures. Simple but no less brilliant because of it.

My favourite ECM cover. Intriguing, beautiful photograph, simple typography - I love the use of red and the way it contrasts with the line of white figures in the photograph.
